To our Community of MAT® Practitioners and Students:
While we have faced challenges before in this community, we now are presented with our biggest challenge yet. We are sharing in a time where many of our practices have been shut down or our business has dramatically declined. Even though the virus COVID-19 is affecting many throughout the world, it doesn't change the passion we all share for what we do! We know that many of you are sole proprietors and thought this video may be a helpful resource in learning about the Paycheck Protection Program as more funds have become available. During times like these, it is important to remember why we chose a profession in the health industry and that we have the opportunity to be a positive light for our clients, even while we are apart.
Over the last couple of months, our individual nations have taken steps to help reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus and this has introduced a new level of uncertainty and anxiety to our career paths: virtual labs, cancelled client sessions, and postponed certification exams. We are working to continue to provide more learning opportunities to our practitioner community and offer more virtual CEC options, that require no travel, to use this time to inspire us all to continue to serve our clients. In light of the uncertainty of how this virus will affect each of us moving forward, our plan is to provide our practitioners with a 6 month extension to complete their CEC requirements for the year 2020. Therefore, the official CEC deadline to fulfill your annual 2020 requirements and maintain active status will now be June 30th, 2021.
We know that what we do every day for our clients helps them have a healthier and higher quality of life regardless of the stress they endure. So keep in touch with your clients, let them know that you are still there for them through this! Give them every confidence that you will be ready to serve them as soon as it is possible.
This is a stressful time; many of us feel uneasy, a little unsure, and truly unsettled with all the changed timelines and deviations from our original goals or plans. So take care of yourself, call your friends and family to stay connected, find a bit of quiet time to allow yourself to move through all the uncertainty. We are in this together so let's continue to build each other up and encourage one another! Even though we are apart, we are better together! Reach out to us on social media, let's stay connected, and if you have a question on your program specifically or how to obtain CECs this year, please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org, we would love to talk with you!
